What do we want from a tent like the MONSTER LITE 3-

There is no such thing as a tent that can be adapted to every requirement and every situation. Thats why FERRINO , which is one of the most important specialists when it comes to manufacturing tents, offers a vast range of products devised specially for the a host of different uses.

The ML 3 is part of the range of ultra-light technical tents for use in the most extreme conditions.

HIGH-LAB is the line of tents representing the very cream of Ferrino technology. They are the result of extreme tests performed in the laboratory as well as at high altitudes directly in the field to offer an answer to professionals and end users needing to face extreme conditions.

The ML3 is a single-canvas in TEXIT Membrane that can resist a water column of 4000 mm. Texit is a microporous water- and windproof fabric with a high degree of breathability and excellent performance in any atmospheric condition. A fabric is declared waterproof when it can withstand a water column of at least 1200 mm, and therefore, the ML3 with its 4000 mm for the canvas and 8000 mm for the floor, is an extremely reliable product.

The poles consist of two identical poles that are inserted into double cross-over hanging sleeves which make it easier to set up the tent in harsh weather conditions. The poles are in tempered 7001-T6 duraluminium developed by the aeronautical industry, for the maximum compromise when it comes to lightness, elasticity and strength.

The floor is the point subjected to the greatest pressure on account of the people on top of it; the fact that it can resist a water column of 8000 mm means it is extremely reliable, while the snow flaps with special fastening loops and triple reinforcement offer excellent efficiency.

The ML3 is a tent devised for users who ask themselves the following questions:

Do I need to carry the tent in my backpack- How much of a factor is weight-

Does it have to be a tent that can withstand windy areas and the possibility of storms-

Do I have to set up my tent quickly on a glacier or in an impervious area-

Do I need to camp out at high altitudes-

The ML3 can satisfy all of these needs with its 2.5 kg of weight in the three-person version and it is perhaps the lightest tent of its class on the market. Its easy assembly and trapezoidal shape make it practical and comfortable, while the Texit fabric guarantees excellent breathable waterproof qualities in the most extreme conditions.

The ML3 is a tent for cold environments and at high altitudes and it is not recommended for base camp use or in extremely rainy environments where the classical double-canvas tent can doubtless offer better resistance to persistent rainfall.

In this section, we offer some useful tips for tent pitching and maintenance:

Pitch your tent on flat ground with no stones or sharp objects on it to pierce or damage the floor.

In cases of wind, fix the pegs firmly into place and use all the guy lines available.

Make sure that no rainwater can build up under the tent by digging a small ditch all around the edges and if possible, place a nylon sheet beneath the floor as additional protection and to insulate the tent floor from the ground.

Dry the tent thoroughly and clean the canvas and poles before placing them in the stuff sack. If this is not immediately possible, do so as soon as you can.

In some cases, it not possible to prevent the formation of condensation inside the canvas (a great deal of humidity in the air or from cooking inside the tent) and therefore, the only thing to do is to open the ventilation openings fully or partially to help ventilation.
