Evolution of the model Nepal Extreme, ideal for technical use on high elevation terrain and ice. The usage of the insulating Gore-Tex®/Duratherm® lining makes it completely waterproof and breathable. The upper features the “3D Flex System” hinge, innovative system of multidirectional ankle hinge, combined with an elastic anatomical snow protection in the back, with a small integrated elastic gaiter. New snug fitting and comfortable last. The insulating Ibi-Thermo footbed gives the boot exceptional insulation from the cold. New tapered HP3 midsole and shock absorbing PU inserts in the area under the heel and the ball of the foot. New exclusive sole with the innovative technology IBS (Impact Brake System), developed in collaboration with Vibram®, designed to soften impact on hard ground. Removable insulating footbed. New removable tongue with incorporated ventilation system, gives the option of adjusting the fit, personalized for any foot. The EZ OUT pull loop (Patent Pending) facilitates the unlocking of the lace lock. The new model weights only 2050 grams per pair.

The sole has been designed with the objective of offering real advantages to the user, the innovative design of the tread, combined with the shock absorbing PU midsole, allows to soften the negative impact while pounding on the ground.
The sole (patent pending) has been developed in collaboration with Vibram®.
EZ FLEX:
Patented extractable tongue applied to the upper by Velcro strap. Allows personal and precise adjustment to fi t each foot.
EZ OUT:
Patented system. A Nylon loop secured to the upper allows a simple and quick release of the lace-lock system.

Very good product. Need to be worn a few times to soften a little bit. On the other hand, to make ice many hours in January, it is a bit limited in thermal insulation for me anyway.

The boots arrived quickly and without customs issue into Canada. I normally wear a size 10 US, without issue, but with a medium weight wool sock, the toe box was too tight. I have since gone to a 44.5 in the cube, and when prompted for a review will let you know how well that fits. Despite the tight toe box, the boots are incredibly comfortable. There is a reason these boots continually receive top reviews.

I use La sportiva trango s evo (Size 43, just fit, my true foot size is US8.5. But with thick socks, 43EU is the best.). For these boots as I need a little bit room for my toes, I added half size up (EU43 1/2). And so far, I walked 10miles (16km) under -10 degrees and snow condition, no frostbite and blister at all. Not to mention, protect my ankles very well.
