When we started developing the TFX® system we wanted to make the most comfortable carrying system in the market but we were also determined to keep it simple - complexity is the enemy of reliability.
IA back system not only has to feel comfortable in the store but it also has to survive in the real world of 8+ hour treks, baggage handlers and 3rd world bus roof-racks. And in that real world your pack is your best friend - comfortable to be with, reliable and dependable.

The TFX 7 is our mid-range back system and features Torso Fit and Torso Motion.

Torso Fit
The Torso Fit back system allows you to easily adjust the back length across a wide range of back lengths. You can use the coloured bars as a guide but you can also micro adjust the back length between the guide marks. The system is based on components that we have used for over 20 years and they have proved durable in the most exacting situations the opitdoors can throw at you.
The benefits of this back sytem is that you can tailor the pack to your back shape which will improve the carrying comfort allowing you carry heavier loads for longer trips. It has also been designed to withstand major abuse so that you can trust it in the wildest situations.

Torso Motion
When you are trekking your pack needs to accomodate two types of movement:
1. the torsos will twist as you walk and 2. the hips girdle will rotate. The TFX 9 back system will accomodate these movements. The secret lies in the interaction of the hipbelt and internal frame. The frame is structured so that it can twist with the body and the hipbelt will rotate with you to walk un-incumbered. Too much movement can make the load feel very unstable so through hours of product testing and experimentation we have developed a balanced approach, accomodating natural flexing but limiting extreme movements that might upset your balance.
