We used our inner tent-first setup for our family tents as well - for two reasons. You have the inner tent not only for your sleeping cabin, but for the whole interior, living room and gear storage.
This design keeps the bugs and the moisture out, forming a great living area with nothing to worry about.
The second reason is that there are no limitations to the design, which allowed us to integrate a huge side panel, forming a veranda-like place where you can sit and enjoy your surroundings.
We call this the Panorama view - an integrated shade, easy to open, easy to close.
All the things you expect from a family tent are, of course, also integrated - organizers, cable openings for your electricity gear and a rack to store your clothing like in your closet at home.
