Technology:



PrimaLoft® ONE insulation technology is the highest performing insulation on the market for warmth, water resistance, softness and compressibility.



What is it:



PrimaLoft® One is the ultimate microfiber insulation. Ultra fine fibers are specially treated in a patented process and then combined into an insulating core that is incredibly soft, lightweight and water resistant.

How does it work:



The human body is 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit but often ends up in places that threaten to make it far colder than that! PrimaLoft® insulates your body to keep it comfortable and conserve energy even in extreme cold.



Ultra-fine fibers form tiny air pockets that trap body heat and keep the cold out. The result is immediate warmth without the bulk. PrimaLoft® ONE Microfibers are engineered for permanent water resistance and create tight surface tension that resists moisture penetration, resulting in an insulation that dries faster than goose down. Ultra-fine fibers mimic the compressibility of goose down and are breathable, allowing moisture vapor to be transported through the fibers and away from the skin.

What are the benefits of this technology:



PrimaLoft® One absorbs 3 times less water, is 14% warmer when dry and is 24% warmer when wet than the competitive insulation. It dries faster than down, but is just as warm, soft and compressible. Its lightweight, breathable and wind resistant.

Polartec Power Stretch Pro



Polartec Power Stretch Pro fabrics feature body-hugging 4-way stretch and are very breathable. They keep you dry when you sweat and provide warmth without weight. These fabrics feature a proprietary construction with two unique surfaces: a durable nylon outer layer is wind and abrasion resistant; the soft polyester inner layer pulls moisture away from your skin keeping you dry, warm and comfortable. The fabrics excel at handling the demands of the next-to-skin environment.



DriClime



What is it:



DriClime mesh is a bi-component denier gradient dimensional knit made of two different denier yarns. Using extremely fine deniers this knit is extremely light with superior wicking performance.



How does it work:



The larger outer yarns are a special filament yarn with an open capillary structure, which pulls the moisture away from the skin to the backside of the mesh where it spreads to increase evaporation. The dimensional structure of the knit combined with the smaller denier yarns on the backside of the mesh increase the surface area allowing for greater moisture holding capacity.



What are the benefits of this technology:



This technology increases the interior comfort of the garment by enabling the wearer to feel less clammy and more comfortable over a wide range of temperatures and conditions. The mesh prevents condensation from collecting on the skin no matter what the level of activity due to its 3 dimensional structure. The dimensional knit structure also helps by spreading the moisture over a larger surface area maximizing the efficiency of the evaporate process. This technology solves the problem of condensation and internal comfort that even the most breathable of fabrics have problems with during high intensity activities.

PreCip



What is it:



PreCip is Marmots proprietary PU (polyurethane) coating technology, specially engineered for unlined garments. It combines a hydrophobic and hydrophilic PU with our special Dry Touch Technology to create a very precisely controlled 2.5 layer coating system.



Dry Touch incorporates ceramic particles in the surface of the coating reducing condensation and the sticky clammy feel of most coatings.



How does it work:



The key to PreCip is its barrier technology: a microporous polyurethane that is permeated with silicon dioxide particles. These particles create small, numerous, very consistent airways that keep the rain out while releasing body moisture to keep you dry inside and out.

PreCip is not only waterproof, windproof, breathable and comfortable, but compressible enough to travel with you wherever the road leads.
