This double rope is proud to be the lightest in the Triaxiale range: 39 g per meter! Designed for expert alpinists, it’s given a Hydrophobic treatment to prevent water absorption (so it’s still light to carry in wet conditions). There is now a UIAA test for this type of rope. The rope is placed on a sloping surface, sprinkled with water, and weighed (before and after). The rope passes the test if it only absorbs 5 % of the water. Our PRO ALPINE TRX absorbed only 2%! To achieve this terrific result, we treat the interior threads (core) and exterior threads (sheath). So: 100 % of the threads are treated then polymerized at room temperature, to make the effects long-lasting. The PRO ALPINE TRX is the winter rope par excellence: its a season when mountaineers have a fair load (they heed more apparel and equipment). Its also the rope for faraway expeditions - and close to home, too. If youre venturing far into the Mont Blanc Massif, for example, a lighter load is appreciable.
