I work ERPT and have 20 years frontline.. I have used Bates, Danners, Altbergs and Lowas, all good in their own way but I wanted to lighten my footfall and it appears nobody cares about shining boots anymore.. I spent a while looking at the Spiders and the Pilgrims, decided on the spiders due to good reviews and they looked more plimsoll like, (I need a bit of flex for driving) They do look the business and first day there was slight concern at a pinch point, and a very different sole design, day 2 it was like they were created around my feet. Extremely comfortable, a lot more stiffness and support than you'd think, but no problems driving and feeling the pedals, the heel is slightly raised to propel you forward like walking boots do, good grip in the dry, not so good in the wet, but within acceptable limits and fine to run in and climb fences etc... sizing accurate but allow room for footbeds/insoles as they arent like trainers.. Brilliant for ERPT or emergency services work, as long as your skipper doesn't hate that you cant polish them...!

Love the boots but not sure about size. I brought the 10.5 but thinking about maybe returning for a 10 ?
