I’ve long wanted a pair of non-GTX boots but because 99% of my tabbing and trekking is in moderate climate I could never justify it. Recent trip to Rwanda & Uganda were my excuse and they performed fantastic on safari and tracking mountain gorillas. In fact they didn’t get wet inside despite trudging through mud for two days. I already own two pairs of Meindls for Wales / Scotland in different categories but I look forward to putting these pilgrims to the test on my next trip to Brecon Beacons. For the money they have far exceeded my expectations and they look great! Very impressed.

These Aku Pilgrims are my third pair, as I have them in Black and Brown also. I cant recommend these highly enough as they feel like wearing slippers, and are so comfortable and lightweight.

These are my second AKU boots. Roughly knew what to expect. The order came to Russia in 10 days. The boots are excellent, my feet like it :) I took it for the off-season, spring-autumn. For the city and walks in the forest. One remark, perhaps for those who change shoes during the day. it will be inconvenient that the lacing on top of the ring, and not the hooks as expected :)

Aku boots are spot on for sizing and comfortable out of the box. If fact, so comfortable, I call them my slippers. I’ve had the Spider boots before and, although equally as comfortable and equally well made, I wasn’t overly impressed with the grip from the sole - I’m sure it’s fine for Seal Team 6, but not for me. So, after wearing my spiders until those soles wore off, I’ve gone for the Pilgrim DS. The boots are fundamentally the same, just with what I consider better tread. The last pair were worn everywhere and virtually every day. These look like they’ll stand up just as well if not better. Highly recommended.

Aku Pilgrim DS The size of the boot is true and directly transferable were other shoes and boots. The boot has a good fit and a height that makes the ankle is supported by the boot, without being particularly high

The boots are true to size using the size chart. I'm a UK men's 7.5 and the fit is comfortable and supported my feet and ankles over a long hike over a variety of terrain, including mud , gravel and sharp rocky tracks. The footbed give good firm support underfoot, which may feel different to those who are more used to a more cushioned sneaker-style hiking boot (eg Salomon Quest). Thinking of a second pair - Goretex.

Hello, they are not waterproof, Aku Pilgrim DS is a highly breathable boot. AKU AIR 8000 system offers up to 11.5 times greater breathability than normal standards. Regards
