The upgraded version is 30% stiffer with 100% carbon construction and also features the new SlideLock Technology that allows the feasible operation of locking and collapsing of the trekking poles. Also, the swapping of Trekking baskets with Trekking Compact baskets makes it ideal to use for all four seasons.
Thanks to the Dual FlickLock Pro adjustability that offers secure grip, fast access and quick length whenever you are in need of some adjustments. The interchanging allows you to switch between carbide and rubber tips when you are trekking through rugged terrains or mountaineering through high rocks. And Non-slip EVA foam grip extension provides secure grip and quick choke ups on steep terrains.

Good day! I got my ordered BLACK DIAMOND Distance Carbon Poles Ultra Blue 125 cm, but there were no Carbide Tech-Tips in the kit Please let me know if the Tech-Tips were not added by mistake. These poles are incredibly lightweight, and feel very stable. I bought them on recommendation after trying a friends' set and think I'm going to be very happy.

It is very lightweight at 182g as a pair. The neck is that it cannot be folded, but other than that, there is nothing to complain about.

This review is for the single piece poles designed to be absolutely the lightest possible. Firstly you have to realise that these poles are not practical to pack in your luggage and you aren’t going to be going anywhere with them except in the back of your car. Fortunately for me the vast majority of the walks I do are from my car - and I have pair of the Z poles for travelling - so I also know the exact length I like from a few years of using the Z poles - you need to have a good idea of this as there is NO adjustment in these poles at all. Finally these poles are designed for lightness, and while by no means flimsy you can break them if you catch the tip between rocks or tree roots - or if you fall across them. I always use poles with the tungsten steel tips - I find the rubber ones too prone to slipping on rocks or slick roots to be of much value - and these poles are only supplied with the plastic tips - its the work of a moment to change the tips but you will need to order them separately. If you understand all the above and aren’t put off they really are gorgeous to use. So light yet very stiff and rigid - they give fabulous stability yet are incredibly light. I find them better than the Z poles in terms of rigidity and weight - and to be honest never feel the lack of an ability to change the length of the pole - that’s what elbows are for. I should mention they will also take the small snow baskets that other Z poles can use - though these are smaller than the screw on powder baskets for the dedicated alpine poles. They are however still very useful especially in firmer snow - without them the poles will plunge deeply into snow and be worse than useless in winter conditions.

Please can you confirm that these poles are the foldable fixed length poles? I have just ordered these poles believing that they are the foldable carbon 125cm fixed length poles as shown in the product video

Those plates are not foldable. They are fixed.
