This time BLACK DIAMOND presents the new STORMLINE STRETCH RAIN mountaineering jacket, it is ideal for winter days as it provides greater impermeability, breathability and wind resistance, providing the necessary protection.

It presents a regular design with adjustable velcro cuffs. It features a flat seam construction for comfort. Features a fully laminated full front zipper.

It has an internally lined hood with a reinforced edge for greater visibility. To protect your hands, it has two side pockets with zippers. Its bottom hem is adjustable with an elastic drawstring. It has reinforced underarms for greater durability. Alpine squalls or urban downpours, the StormLine Stretch Rain Shell can handle it all. Featuring our BD.dry waterproof/breathable/windproof solution, which is engineered to shield you from whatever the weather holds, the StormLine is a fully featured rain shell. With DWR sealed pit zip vents, two zippered hand pockets and a waterproof center front zipper, the StormLine comes prepared for the wettest conditions but quickly adapts for moderate weather. The StormLines underarm gussets and ultra-stretchy fabric add mobility and durability, while the climbing-helmet-compatible hood makes it perfect for on-route escapades when inclement weather rolls in. The StormLine also has an adjustable hem and cuffs for dialing in the fit, and when the sun comes out, the shell stows into the right-hand pocket and clips to a harness or bag with a carabiner clip loop.

Superb rain jacket

Very nice jacket. Pleasant and light material. It will be perfect for my mountain hikes. Attention, size large. I had to take S when I usually dress in M.

BD Stormline jacket: Better=lower weight than specified (men's M)

This jacket actually exceeded my expectation of its weight: only 280gr in men's M. As I hesitated between the Fineline and the Stormline jacket, I chose the Stormline because of the pit zippers, inspite of slightly higher weight specified (320gr vs. 280gr). Since my Stormline jacket now has a lower weight than specified, I am very happy I chose the one with pit zippers.

Light, durable and compactly stored, this is an item you always want to carry when climbing. A mechanism that allows the body temperature to be adjusted by the zipper under the armpit for better ventilation.

It is a wonderful product, which is more affordable. I was looking for a rain-shell for my treks-trekking which is sufficiently efficient in heavy rain, very light to carry with you and in the bag, which does not take up space (although I am not an ULTRA LIGHT walker) and especially the most important for me that is breathable, that it can wick away perspiration. All the points being gathered and validated in the field, I never leave it.
