The main problem with the belay carabiner on the harness has always been to keep it in the correct position both with and without the rope. Same problem in rappelling.
Grivel has designed a totally new carabiner where a simple second wire gate isolates the belay loop and keeps the proper orientation even with the carabiner door open.
To place the Clepsydra is a totally automatic and intuitive operation.

I tested this carabiner in Arco for 1 week. It was quiet easy to use, but you need to get use to it. It works well with reverso and also with grigri.

Very good high-quality carabiner, grivel quality. Have mainly used it for glacier travel, tie in carabiner, as well as with grigri for sport climbing. Works very well with the grigri stopping movement and possibility of wrong loading. Little bit fiddly with gloves, so would recommend screw gate if you are going to use it a lot with gloves. Quite heavy weight but feels sturdy and ridged.

The carbine came not in the color that in the picture, but orange. At the same time, the picture says kN 28-11-11, and on the real orange kN 22-9-8. In general, I liked it.

Very good technology applied to a mosquetos, very good prestasiones and when using it with a grigri, are the best couple as far as insurance is concerned and it does not allow to commit system placement error or to turn the mosqueton, widely recommended
