Haglöfs L.I.M Proof Jacket

The new LIM PROOF climbing and mountaineering jacket has arrived, ideal for going to the mountains thanks to its super light weight.

It has a full front zip with a chin guard that merges with the hood. It has an adjustable hood with a reinforced edge for added protection against the weather. Its lower hem is adjustable with straps to maintain body heat.

It has a zippered chest pocket. For greater freedom of movement, it has articulated sleeves and elastic cuffs for greater convenience and comfort. We wanted to use our own PROOF™ 2,5-layer material technology to construct an essential outdoor jacket that makes the most of the material´s durable, protective qualities, versatility, and capacity for high performance.

The result:a lightweight and versatile jacket that´s a beautifully simple and effective companion piece for fast, light outdoor activity.

It´s treated with fluorocarbon-free DWR, helping to repel water and dirt, and is durable and packable.

The durable water repellent action of our PFC-free DWR treatments comes from a hydrocarbon based, silicone based and/or wax based technology instead of fluorinated chemical.

Irrespective of the ‘active ingredient´, all PFC-free DWR treatments used are totally free from all perfluorinated chemicals (PFC) (of course including both perfluorooctanesulfonic acid (PFOS) and perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA)), free from other halogenated substances and free from alkylphenolethoxylates, including nonylphenolethoxylates.

The possible drawbacks are that the oil repellency and the durability of the PFC-free DWR treatments may be slightly lower than for a PFCcontaining option and therefore re-treatment for water repellency may be necessary at an earlier point in time.

In all, we use very good, environmentally friendly alternatives to PFC-containing DWR treatments.
