Simple carbohydrates such as glucose or fructose have very low molecular weight, which is a problem when preparing isotonic solutions, since they should be taken in very small concentrations, causing drinks that have these types of molecules to have very few calories, resulting in very low energy efficiency.

INFISPORT Voltom® is a patented carbohydrate formed by amylopectin (polysaccharide consisting of thousands of glucose molecules) of the easiest solution having a very high molecular weight and the lowest osmolality of all products which are currently on the market (10 mOsm/kg 5% in solution). Therefore, its absorption is rapid and does not cause gastric distress.

Osmolalities in 5% solution in water:

- VOLTOM®: 10 mOs/kg
- VITARGO: 11 mOs/kg
- Maltodextrin : 48 mOs/kg
- GLUCOSE: 620 mOs/kg

These features make it possible, using INFISPORT Voltom®, to prepare isotonic solutions with much higher concentrations than other carbohydrates, thereby having a high energy value and thus being suitable for both increasing concentrations of carbohydrates before exercise, as well as maintaining them and quickly restoring glycogen stores to completion.

INFISPORT Voltom® contains the necessary amount of vitamin B1 required for the metabolism of carbohydrates. Therefore, the body does not have to use its own stocks of this vitamin when ingested, as it does with other products on the market.

The citric acid content helps combat metabolic acidosis resulting from the practice of physical exercise. It is sweetened with sucralose, a single sugar derivative, with a sweetening power 600 times greater and nonabsorbable, therefore no calories.

Ingredients:

- Partially hydrolyzed starch rich in amylopectin (99%), aromas, acidifier: citric acid, coloring: beta-carotene, sweetener: sucralose, vitamin B1 (thiamine corhidrato).


How to use:

Before the effort:

- To help preloading of carbohydrates: In order to reach a maximum load of carbohydrates before a competition, one should take 4 heaping measures (about 80g) dissolved in 600-800 ml of water per day (in one or more doses) for three days before the event and perform low intensity workouts or ´active rest.”

- To have an adequate amount of carbohydrates and face either a training or competition, also take a serving of 80g (4 heaping measures) one hour before the workout dissolved in the same amount of water.

During the effort :

- Dissolve 80g (4 heaping measures) per 800 ml of water and drink 125-200 ml every 15-20 minutes.

After the effort :

- Dissolve 80g (4 heaping measures) in 600-800 ml of water and drink in small sips during the first half hour after training or competition in order to restore muscle glycogen stores.


Dissolution: While dissolution is faster than other existing carbohydrates on the market, its very high molecular weight makes the solution to be somewhat slower than sugar or glucose.
