How to Choose Rock Climbing Shoes?

Camber or Flat

The camber provides the foot and arch that means the sole is smaller than the upper part of the shoe. This applies more force onto the toes. But flat shoes have no camber and are extra convenient when climbing. That is why flat shoes are suitable for climbing.

Downturn

The downturn is only detected in the leading part of your foot. If this is binding downwards very well, you have a downturn in your shoe. This is remarkably advantageous on very sheer cliffs and overhanging climbs. So always choose a shoe having a downturn in it for climbing.
