this jacket had a baptism of fire upon being opened! with it being used on the coast, it’s been subjected to high winds, horizontal rain, hail and huge downpours. i opted for this version as it had the insulation, which for me is a big plus. having ,upgraded from a snugpak torrent jacket, which is terrible (don’t buy one, its spit proof at best, then you need to dip it in the fires of hell to dry it out! horrible zips, poor hood). i can’t believe i didn’t bin it off sooner. the montane is leaps and bounds better. just be aware that this is a “fitted” jacket. so for me, i had to go a size up. it does fit nicely though, just the ego has taken a hit and i need to kick start the diet.
