Tempest 40 is a versatile pack, designed as a true mountain professional and featuring all you could need for winter days or overnight trips.
The cleverly designed new AirScape´ accordion foam backpanel combined with a seamless lumbar-to-hipbelt body wrap increases air flow and provides an even more comfortable carrying experience, by keeping the load close to the body and spreading the weight evenly around the hips.
The Tempests backsystem also offers an impressive womens specific fit, with an ergonomically shaped hipbelt, harness, yoke and backpanel.
Tempest 40 features an adjustable back length, ensuring the pack fits well to your body and enabling the most comfortable carrying experience.
The pack is complete with innovative solutions such as Stow-on-the-Go´ trekking pole attachment, twin ice-axe attachments and InsideOut´ compression straps.
The zipped pockets on each side of the hipbelt allow quick and easy access to smaller items such as phone, snacks and GPS.

It is very comfortable and light. fits perfectly to the back and waist. I like the adjustment straps to adapt the size according to the load.

Arrived on schedule. Excellent backpack with pockets and straps versatile for use. Despite being a 40 liter, the height does not have a too high backrest and, if necessary, it is still easily adjustable. Used under a summer downpour the upper pocket gave way a little but the rest remained dry.

I am a great fan of Osprey backpacks. I owned 2 Talon 33 backpacks which I use for mountaineering. However as I am petite (5 ft 3 in), I find the Talon 33 too long for my back such that the waist strap when fastened hangs below my waist resting on my hip. So I decided to try the Tempest 40. Haven’t used it on actual trip yet but it does fit better than Talon 33. I took the S/M because XS/S was out of stock.

Taken for a birthday present, shipping and packaging ok. Great product for both climbing and hiking because in this backpack they have combined the characteristics of a mountaineering backpack with hiking ones (eg: snack pockets on the sides and double opening; on top and bottom ). The backpack is adherent to the back and with a good ventilation system. The adjustable backrest adapts to the height of the person. The measurement is good (40 liters) and can be compressed if necessary. Fit for women and feel! Nothing to say except "Osprey"!
