Very good boot for mountaineering with snow. Although it is semi-rigid, it is very warm and comfortable and flexes a little so it is a very good option for winter outings with snow and for use with crampons. I advise you take a half number more because it does not size too big.

A worthy successor to the Raven Combi, the Vultur is comfortable out of the box, stiff but not too stiff, reasonably light, three season trekking and mountaineering boot. Warm to 15 degrees with a heavier sock. I wore a Raven Combi W and the Vultur fits my feet fine. I preferred the Raven Combi upper--better closure and ankle support, but the Vultur is more than adequate. After 200 miles and a fair bit of 2nd and 3rd class off trail hiking, no problems with durability. I swapped out the Salewa footbed for sorbothane and wear custom orthotics, so no difficulties with room despite a narrow heal (no slip), a high arch, and a wide forefoot. I did go up a half size (10 to 10.5) to make it work. Fabulous service to the US from Trekkin...
