Designed to keep out ice and moisture while ice climbing, the Black Diamond Frontpoint features a full-height design with a 2-layer waterproof breathable Gore-Tex upper and ballistic nylon lower.
The narrow fit keeps the gaiter streamlined around ice boots, and the neoprene-coated instep strap keeps it securely fitted while climbing.

The gaiters are well made, sturdy and reliable. As soon as they were tested on the snow, they performed their function very well. They have a fairly snug fit. I'm 1.72 tall and ordered a size L that fits nicely over the pants, ensuring the right snug fit.

Velcro instead of a zipper is an excellent solution, it is very convenient and quick to put on and take off, the zipper often clogs with dirt and there is a lot of trouble with it. My husband had a pair of these that lasted him more than 15 years! He loved them so much I got him another pair for the Holiday and he´s as in love as he was with the original pair! They are super breathable and he wears them hiking and ice climbing mainly. He´s 5´9" and they are a great height for him and stand nice and tall on his shins. They are waterproof and are fantastic at keeping his legs warmer on a cold/blustery day. When this pair bites the dust 15+ years from now, we´ll be getting him another of this exact pair!

Your choice should be based on your boots size. Size M fits nice on mountaineering boots sized 8 (UK) or slightly larger.

I am 1.78 / 90 kg and I bought XL. I think you should buy size L. I think it will hold the boot you use more firmly.

Yes, the M fits well for your height, with the buckle adjustments they adapt to any boot size since they are long, but the thickness of your leg is very important for it to fit well, although the upper lacing does help.
