Made of high-quality aluminum, the Crag Indicator Wire’s carabiners are mixed to deliver increased effectiveness: a key lock upper carabiner for safety and compatibility with various hooks and pegs, and a wire lock lower carabiner for easier rope entry. A padded protector on the lower carabiner not only keeps it in position at all times but also reduces sling wear.
Said sling is Mammut’s trump card when it comes to safety. It is a smart polyester sling woven in layers: if the outer lining is at risk of fraying or tearing, the red inner lining becomes visible, warning the climber to replace the quickdraw.
