By combining the breathable AirScape™ backpanel with the always reliable BioStretch™ harness, the Tempest 40L offers you a dreamlike load experience that keeps your back always dry and abrasion-free thanks to its seamless design. The inclusion of sternum and lumbar straps - the latter featuring elastic zippered pockets for added utility - gives you stability and security at every step.
In its front panel, the Tempest 40L is pure utility. A LidLock™ helmet carry allows this backpack to carry this crucial piece of equipment whether you use it on a bike or if you need additional protection in mountain activities. Also, a pair of Stow-on-the-Go trekking pole attachments ensure that you can keep your hands clear when these tools are not needed without risk of losing them in the road.
In terms of internal capacity, the Tempest 40L includes an easy-access hydration tank pocket on the front panel, as well as a variety of zippered mesh pockets to keep your belongings and supplies well-organized.

Tempest 40 is a versatile pack, designed as a true mountain professional and featuring all you could need for winter days or overnight trips.
The cleverly designed new AirScape´ accordion foam backpanel combined with a seamless lumbar-to-hipbelt body wrap increases air flow and provides an even more comfortable carrying experience, by keeping the load close to the body and spreading the weight evenly around the hips.
The Tempests backsystem also offers an impressive womens specific fit, with an ergonomically shaped hipbelt, harness, yoke and backpanel.
Tempest 40 features an adjustable back length, ensuring the pack fits well to your body and enabling the most comfortable carrying experience.
The pack is complete with innovative solutions such as Stow-on-the-Go´ trekking pole attachment, twin ice-axe attachments and InsideOut´ compression straps.
The zipped pockets on each side of the hipbelt allow quick and easy access to smaller items such as phone, snacks and GPS.
On top of the lid you will find another conveniently placed pocket, ideal for gloves, hat, map or other items that you need easy access to.
On the front of the pack is a large PowerMesh´ pocket, which is ideal for a wet jacket or extra layer of clothing.
Keeping hydrated during activity is essential and re-filling your hydration reservoir has been made easy with the quick access external hydration sleeve with reservoir hanging loop.
Tempest 40 also features a floating lid, enabling extra storage capacity should you need to carry additional gear, as well as an entrance into the lower compartment through a horizontal zip.

Very good buy. A brand that never fails. Bottom and top opening. Very versatile backpack because it can be compressed and it seems that you are carrying a backpack of less liters. Light for a backpacking backpack. It catches my attention because the handles or shoulder pads are more closed than the men's models that I had had in and that can bother on long journeys in the armpits.

After the 30L for Nepal (trek with portage), here is the 40L for the 15-day trek in semi-autonomy (bivouac, no bag carrying, refueling every 3-4 days). Just the place you need, so comfortable that you forget that it is on its back (even if 10kg, it feels in the effort).

I bought that backpack for my wife. She has a lot of backpacks. It is comfortable, has light weight, soft hipbelt and straps with perforation for good ventilation. It is made of nice to touch fabric. Backpack doesn't seem to like a big one because of it's design, but it holds lots of staff. Minus is that the product does not have a good range of colors. Compression straps are not so easy to manage. My wife is really happy with this backpack.
