This eco-friendly city pack is an absolute innovation in looks, materials and function! The creative designers of the VAUDE idea hatchery really came up with something special: The prominent overlapping compression straps not only look unusual, they also feature two small zip compartments to facilitate the transport of a yoga mat, jacket, XXL baguette, picnic blanket or other voluminous or bulky items. The textile, robust material mix made from hemp fibers with small color inlays and organic cotton gives each bag a special, individualized flair. Another special feature: the buckles and zips of the new Lignum Bag Series are made with 70 % castor oil. Another innovative development of the VAUDE inventors. The inner life of this pack, on the other hand, is downright pragmatic: You can store a 15.6” notebook and a tablet in the padded back compartment while a sensible organizer in the main compartment creates a safe haven for your phone, keys, pens, small items, A4 documents and other gear — all well cared for by Fir. - With our Green Shape label, we offer functional, environmentally-friendly products made from sustainable materials. They are manufactured under fair working conditions along the entire supply chain. The criteria for the label are strict and transparent. They are under constant review and cover the entire lifecycle of the product from design, through production, care and maintenance, to repair and the product’s end of life.

EcoPaxx:
- EcoPaXX is a bio-based plastic. Normally, plastics are made from petroleum. In order to save this finite fossil resource, we have been looking for an alternative made from a renewable raw material. 70% of EcoPaXX is made from castor oil. The hardy castor oil plant, also known as palm of Christ, grows without additional irrigation on barren soil that would be unsuitable for growing food. We use the oil, which is pressed from the plant’s beans, to make robust polyamide fibres for our clothing as well as for making recyclable zip fasteners, buttons and hooks.

Hemp:
- Natural hemp fibres are used in this product. The hardy, robust plant is cultivated as industrial hemp. Hemp is naturally highly resistant and grows quickly. It requires little water, as well as no fertiliser or pesticides, making it an environmentally-friendly, renewable raw material. Fibres are obtained from the stalks, with these in turn processed into hard-wearing fabrics. The result is high-quality, long-lasting products, which should give you many years of enjoyment.

Recypes:
- VAUDE uses recycled materials (e.g. from PET-bottles) in the manufacture of this product. This saves up to 50% in energy and CO2 emissions as well as fossil raw materials. Please refer to the care label in the product for details.

Organic Cotton:
- Our Organic Cotton label guarantees the use of certified organic cotton. Chemical fertilizers and pesticides are taboo, as are GM seeds. Worldwide, 25% of all insecticides and 11% of all pesticides are used for conventional cotton, even though cotton only accounts for 2% of global agricultural areas. Organic cotton helps reduce the use of these poisons.

Eco Finish:
- VAUDE products bearing the Eco Finish been waterproofed in an environmentally-friendly way without fluorocarbons (PFC). PFCs are part of a group of chemical compounds which are used to waterproof the outer layer of many outdoor products. They have come under criticism for being non-biodegradable, bioaccumulative and toxic, and suspected of being harmful to health. VAUDE has made a clear commitment to completely renouncing PFCs.
